What do I need to connect my dvd, wii, and playstation to my TV? There is only two little jack thingys to connect and I have three things I want to connect, how can I connect all three to my tv?

Starry Eyes replied: "you need a VGA cable"

phite2 replied: "If your TV has only one set of RCA inputs or it doesn't have any of those and has a coxial input only then you are going to need something called an A/V switch. It basically connects multiple sources (3 or 4) to one TV. It can connect to both a coxial input and a RCA input."

rlanconjr replied: "You could use the audio/video selector (available at wal-mart) or you could get a home theater system that has several audio/video inputs that are selectable. Of course the selector is much cheaper but the home theater system would be better."

Russ G replied: "I just came across a site that sends you a Nintendo Wii for free! I'm ordering mine right now, can't wait to kick my friends asses in Wii Sports :)"

fketron1 replied: "I just had the same thing happen tp me yesterday. Go to you rlocal radio shack and ask for an A/V selector. They have one for 20 bucks! Mine works great."

joe m replied: "IF YOU DONT HAVE ENOUGH OUTLETS ON THE BACK OF YOUR TV I WOULD SUGGEST A SYSTEM SELECTOR PELICAN OR JOYTECH"

Where can I find white dvd (wii) cases? Where can I find standard white dvd cases like the ones Nintendo Wii games are packaged in? I'd rather not order in bulk online, or charge a small amount for just one or two. Do any stores carry these where I could just go and pay cash? I'd like to print out labels for 'Wii Sports' and 'Links Crossbow Training' and keep my games in proper cases to protect them. Thanks for your help!

nghia n replied: "lol arnt u being an asker, no there are no such things as white case, unless u get them from buying wii games, only way to get them is hopefully at fry's or internet and yes they both sell in 20 packs not 1 or 2, if they sell 1 or 2 they would be so over stock they die because no room to breath .answer to the guy bellow, wii points card are 20 bucks so he would wast 40 bucks on 2 white case while he could buy a bulk for less than 5 bucks"

link replied: "Actually they come with any wii points card you buy, they come in a game box for some reason which means you can use it as a spare."

randall b replied: "well you could buy a few of those 1$ dvds from walmart, then take everything off the the cases and spay paint it white..."

bane81a replied: "Just look through your DVD collection. I got a DVD for Christmas that came in a white case. I slipped it in a black case I had laying around, printed out the cover for wii sports, and used the white case. Check the dollar bin in some stores if you don't have any white-cases in ur home dvd collection. OR, just swap our your white cases for black ones."

ihatecoolbeans21 replied: "i believe store.nintendo.com sells them, or at least they did around a year ago. I think they were about 1.25 each."

Haha. :) replied: "I wish i was you! But i would rather go shopping or just buy a laptop. xbox 360? lol I dont know what youd like."

Douglas D replied: "Ask for a real life experience, instead of a virtual one."

Mo$t$$$ replied: "hmmm...you can get a xbox360 if you dont have that also you can get a phone if you want clothes money shoes jewlrey"

sassy ole gal replied: "Greedy and spoiled you certainly are. Why do you have to get something? Why can't just a happy birthday do."

Iron_Man replied: "How about asking for an opportunity to do something for someone else? If you are spoiled - as you say you are - ask her to do something for an underprivileged person in your name. Send a child to camp, supply a low-income school with some uniforms, provide a birthday present for a child whose parent or parents are in prison, spend a day at a soup kitchen serving the needs of others, etc. Find some ways to get beyond yourself. You will not only find this rewarding, you will realize that it means more than any "thing" someone can get you."

shaz replied: "how about a car, or a house on the beach, or a trip around the world???"

?????? replied: "ask for money and then give it to animal shelter."

? replied: "Ask for an XBox 360, and a few good games. Gears of War, Fable, Halo 3 and Ninja Gaiden II. =D"

What is the best setup for my HDTV, Direct TV, VCR, DVD, Wii? I have a new Westinghouse HDTV. I also have my satellite receiver (Directv) and older model DVD player and VHS/VCR. Then we added a Wii. I can't connect them all at the same time due to lack of input slots in the television .. unless I have something messed up. I am willing to add a combo device (DVD/VCR) to cut down on cables (and remotes!) Currently, I have the satellite receiver connected and the DVD player (S video.) I have to disconnect the satellite to connect the Wii. The VCR has an old coax connection that my television cannot accept. I'm lost. I realize I may need to provide current cable connections and availability to get a correct response .. I'm just not sure how much information to provide. Thanks I discovered that I had my satellite receiver connected with both HDMI and component .. but my HDMI is not working so they are sending me out a new box.

TV guy replied: "Modern TVs have lots of connections, so I am very surprised you can't fit everything. Satellite receiver: For now it looks like you use an SD one. You need to upgrade to an HD model. At that point, use HDMI. For now use component if available, if not S-Video, but you are really wasting your TV. Wii. Use Component (red/green/blue) If it is an HDTV it should have coax input (for the tuner) - otherwise it is called HD ready or a monitor. Check if your VCR has composite out (yellow port) and use that. DVD player. You should definitely be using component cables. Since you don't tell us what connections you have on the TV, here is a plan Set-top : Get an HD one - HDMI; until you get one s-video or component Wii and DVD player - Component VCR - RF or composite This interactive connections guide may help too"

oikos replied: "Anything that produces heat or moves it (e.g. freezer) is going to be a high energy-user. Your electricity supplier can probably give you exact figures for each device."

Gooch replied: "Carrot peeler definitely low energy"

What type of activities can a preteen be interested in doing? My daughters favorite phrase is "I'm bored" She has the PC, Dvd, Wii, ipod, cell phone, Nintendo DS.. blah blaah blah, When I was her age, i didnt' have half the things she has, so that helped me to use my imaginations. Today, in '08, some of technology is taking away from creative ability. She needs to learn to be more creative. Any suggestions???

Jeremy H replied: "get her into digital art or any program like that"

matt.branston replied: "take her out to a place with a nice view and get her to do a painting or drawing of the view"

Two Wii Questions? Are they making a DVD Wii and are they making a Red and Black Wii?

Mason B replied: "I am not for sure about the colored wiis, but no they are not making a dvd player one that we know of. If they had a dvd player on it the would cost a whole lot more"

Ryan replied: "they are making a dvd wii in the future i e-mailed them about this you should really check other questions these questions about dvd wiis come up like every day so yes they are but not 2 sure about colored wiis gluck HTH (hope this helps)"

Ed D replied: "The DVD Wii is over a year away and the colored Wii's are rumored to be coming this winter in time for the Holiday. I think it is doubtful to see any changes in the Wii anytime soon for the simple fact that they can not keep them on shelves the way they are so why change production. They are trying to increase productivity and changing these things would drop productivity for a short time while they change prcedures."

Lil' Mindfreak 93 replied: "I think they're making a DVD upgrade for the Wii, and they're in the process of making red Wiis but not black."

My DLP projector lags when watching movies, but not when playing games? This is strange. I have an acer PD 100 projector and it ghosts when I watch movies (pretty badly). Yet when I play video games, I notice no ghosting whatsoever. Why would it be like this and not the other way around? Is there any way to fix this? I have it projecting onto a white sheet. Could a real projector screen possibly help with this? It happens with my VCR and DVD player. I have the DVD player connected via component cables. I have the VCR connected through composite. I'm also using a component/composite switch that I bought at Walmart for $20 that I use to switch between VCR/DVD/Wii. The Wii also uses the switch and has looked just fine.

rc replied: "I would recommend looking at your DVD manual, as thee is a setting in the preferences or setup that allows you to sent a delay to compensate for the audio that is not being synchronized right now. I am assuming that your audio is being fed to an audio receiver."

MaRTIN replied: "Ghosting can be due to interference (bad analog cables? connection?) or to a slow refresh rate (try some different presets for you projector). I would troubleshoot by using a known good component cable (probably the one that connects after your video switch to your projector) and connect-it directly in your DVD player"

I need help mounting a front end projector in my apartment. Will this idea work well enough? anyone else try? I picked up a Viewsonic PJ506D projector with a free 80" screen and ceiling mount. I live in an apartment and don't want the landlord freaking out when they walk in and see a projector hanging from the ceiling. Seeing as I no longer need or want an "entertainment center", I got this idea about how to mount it. Buy a end table sized "entertain center" to store my Dvd, Wii and HTPC in. Attached a stained to match 1x4 to the "entertainment center. with a shelf hanging out on top of the 1x4 near the ceiling. the then mount the projector on the underside of the raised "platform as if it were the ceiling. I could then duct the wired back down and into the base. I would then put in between two of the viewing chairs as a end table. Has anyone else ever seen someone do this. I would feel more confident modding an endtable if I have seen pics of someone else doing it. think it will work? ========== | [=======]C | | | | | | | | _____________
